Welcome! I am an economist, and I study environmental and resource problems. My research focuses on understanding the distributional effects of regulations, property rights and institutions, as well as the political economy of environmental and natural resource policy. Applications include ambient air pollution, rights-based management of marine fisheries, and climate change.
I am a Professor at University of Wisconsin - Madison, where I've been a faculty member since 2010. I am also a Fellow at CESifo (Munich) and a Co-Editor of Land Economics.
My primary appointment is in Ag & Applied Economics (AAE), but I am also affiliated with several groups at Wisconsin:
I have worked as a consultant with a variety of organizations, including development banks (World Bank, Asian Development Bank), private companies and environmental NGOs.
At Wisconsin I teach Environmental and Natural Resource Economics at all levels (undergraduate, Masters, PhD). I've also taught short courses in Environmental and Resource Economics, Cost-Benefit Analysis, and Applied Econometrics at UW and abroad.
If you'd like to know more about me, check out my research, download my CV, or get in touch via email.
